Johnney Moore

Johnney Moore of Maysville was born on October 19, 1944 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Roosevelt and Florence (Nobles) Moore and passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 in Oklahoma City at the age of 76 years.

Johnney and his family lived in Stuart, Oklahoma before moving to Maysville when he was 12 years old. At the age of 20 he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. Johnney was awarded 2 Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, and a Silver Star for his dedicated service and was a proud veteran. He married Ruth Jensen on March 21, 1967 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He loved his family and they were very dear to him. In his younger years, Johnney liked hunting. He enjoyed farming, taking long nature walks, and playing pool every time he got a chance. Johnney was affiliated with the Abundant Love Church. He will be dearly missed.

His survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ruth Moore of the home.
Son, Dennis Moore of Tulsa and daughter, Elizabeth Moore and Terry Welch of Broken Arrow.
Brothers: Joe Moore and wife Priscilla of Dibble; Sam Moore and wife Nita of Poteau; and Richard Moore and wife Della of Maysville.
Sisters: Marcill Fowler of Smithville; Rosie Casey and husband Ron of Blanchard; Martha Miller and husband Sammy of Lindsay; Naomi Wilder and husband Russell of Illinois; and Melissa Rouse and husband Dewey of Dibble.
And a host of other relatives and friends.

Johnney was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt and Florence Moore.

No services are being held. Cremation arrangements were handled by John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
