Willis Andrew Rushing

Willis Andrew Rushing of Lindsay was born on November 14, 1934 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Charles Floyd Rushing and Alberta Bertha (Odell) Rushing. He passed from this life on Thursday, May 4, 2023 in his home at the age of 88 years. Willis was a lifetime resident of Lindsay. He married Velma Lorene Price on July 15, 1955 in Norman and they made their home in Lindsay. Willis worked in the oilfield for Big Chief Drilling and was also a farmer and rancher. He loved his family, and they were very important to him. Willis enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and turkey, quail and deer hunting too. He liked to spend time with his friends and visit with them. His survivors include his son, Chris Rushing and Anita of Lindsay; daughter, Debbie Foster of Norman; and sister, Lila Tenpenny of Mustang. Grandchildren: Jeremy Foster and Shana of Mustang; and Amanda Stice of Norman. Great Grandchildren: Beckett Stice, Madilynn Wright, Tripp Foster, Blakelyn Foster, Joshua Staehle, Mason Staehle, Garrett Staehle, and Jake Staehle. Nephews: Willie Rushing Jr., Mike Rushing, Robert Tenpenny and Russell Tenpenny. Willis was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Velma Lorene Rushing; brother, Willie C. Rushing; grandson-in-law, Zac Stice. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the First Baptist Church, Lindsay with Todd Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
