Wanda Bernice Wootten Odom of Maysville was born on July 5, 1926 in Antioch, Oklahoma to George Winston Foster and Jessie (McCaskill) Foster and she passed from this life on Thursday, April 30, 2020 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years.
Wanda was a lifetime resident of the Maysville area graduating from Maysville High School in 1944. She married F. L. “Dink” Wootten and to this union three sons were born. She worked as a supervisor at Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma until her retirement. After Dink’s death, Wanda married James Marvin Odom where she gained another son. She loved her family and taking care of others. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and teaching others to quilt. Wanda was a member of the Unity Missionary Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are sons: Fairon Wootten of Park Hill, OK and Danny Wootten and wife Alexa of Paoli.
Bonus son, Bob Odom and wife Janie of Pauls Valley.
Evelyn Wootten of Sulphur who was just like a daughter to her.
Daughter-in-law, Sandra Wootten of Maysville.
Sister-in-law, Betty Foster of Lindsay.
Ten grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, and a host of other relatives.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husbands, F. L. “Dink” Wootten and James Marvin Odom; brothers, Bobby, Frank, and S. J. Foster; son, Robbie Wootten; and daughter-in-law, Myrna Wootten.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 4, 2020 at the Maysville Cemetery with Rev. Randy Rhea officiating. Burial will be under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
