Tye Sand Richards of Lindsay was born on August 24, 1961 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Delbert and Lula Mae (Bryson) Richards. He passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018 at his home near Lindsay at the age of 56 years.
Tye grew up in Chickasha and lived there until he moved to Lindsay in 1981. He married Janice on August 3, 1978 in Gainesville, Texas and he loved her and was dedicated to her his whole life. He loved spending time with his family and being together with them whenever he could. Tye enjoyed collecting guns, riding 4-wheelers and side-by-sides, driving fast, and just life in general. He loved and enjoyed his work as a self-employed electrician. He always cared about people and his dogs. Tye was a member of the Church of God in Erin Springs. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
His survivors include his sons, Nic Richards and wife Roni of Lindsay; and Dustin Richards and wife Jenifer of Carl Junction, Missouri.
A daughter, Dallas Scavezze and husband Cory of Carl Junction, Missouri.
Sisters: Rita Blackwell and husband J.R. of Norman; and Carolyn Williams and husband Ronnie of Lindsay.
Grandchildren: Hunter Richards, Brenna Richards, Blake Irwin, and Gage Irwin.
And many other relatives and friends.
Tye was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Lula Richards; wife, Janice Carol Richards; brother, Delbert Lee “Dee” Richards; and sister, Pam Cooper.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the Church of God in Erin Springs, OK with Brother Ralph Conkling officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
