Truman Victria Brown

October 19, 1946 — January 17, 2018

Truman Victria Brown was born on October 19, 1946 to Adam and Mamie (Victria) Brown of Bradley, Oklahoma. He was the second child born of this union. He passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Norman, Oklahoma.

Truman was reared on and worked on a farm all his life. He raised Simbrah cattle which he loved dearly. He also had several jobs, the first at Circle H Horse Trailers in Chickasha, and Imperial Horse Trailers in Lindsay. Truman drove the school bus for Bradley Schools for a limited time. He worked for Otis Engineering and was a Master Mason of the Lindsay Masonic Lodge 248 since 1987. He also worked for Royce Cottrell, TAW, Davis Machine Shop, and drove a truck cross country.
After years of farming, he sold his cattle and machinery following his marriage to Jill on August 12, 2001. It was hard on him to see his cattle go, but was glad some local farmers bought some of his cows. He has missed his cows ever since, but farming was getting difficult for him. Truman started a hobby selling knives which grew into a monstrous production, but he loved visiting and talking to people at the shows.

He is survived by his wife, Jill; one son, Lentz Brown; two step-children, Heather Selzer and John Cable; one granddaughter, Scarlett Selzer; brother, Adam Carl Brown and wife Charlene; niece, Carla Husband and her children Jay and Mayson; cousin, Bobby Boydston and wife Miriam, and their son, Baxter.

Truman was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Mamie Brown; grandparents, Lorena Ball Brown, Adam Truman Brown, and Cora and Carl Victria; uncles, T.B. Brown and wife Maxine, Loren and Ethel Brown; aunts, Clara Cudd, Eunice O’Tool, Jean Calvert, and Vivian Mollinger; and cousin, Mary Boydston.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Bradley Baptist Church, Bradley, Oklahoma with Bro. Lin Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Bradley Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
