Susan Cheryl Rogers

March 19, 1954 — April 28, 2023

Susan Cheryl (Tabor) Rogers was born March 19th, 1954, to Kohen and Charlotte Tabor in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and passed away Friday, April 28th, 2023, in Lindsay, Oklahoma at the age of 69.  Susan was surrounded by her loved ones.

Susan lived most of her life in Lindsay.  She graduated from Lindsay High School.  After high school, she worked for her father at Tabor’s Drug as a pharmacy technician.  Kohen often said she was the fastest typist he had ever seen.  Susan went on to college, and received her bachelor’s degree, and then proceeded on to work for DHS in child welfare.  She was highly regarded by her co-workers, and most of the families she touched.  Susan’s first and highest calling was helping children find a loving home.  Her impact will be felt for years.

Susan leaves behind her son, Keith Rogers.  He was the true love and focal point of her life.  She took great delight in supporting him in all activities that he showed an interest, including, but not limited to, tumbling, karate, baseball, and football.  She was the occasional home room mother as well.

Susan was an avid reader and she loved being outdoors, golfing, camping, and fishing really anything to do with the water.

Susan put up a most heroic fight for survival for 3 years.  She was fortunate to have friends that helped her through this, one especially, Darleen Newby.  She would come all hours of the day or night.  She was the only one that could encourage Susan to eat or drink.  She did so many loving things that the family will always be grateful for.  Darleen loved Susan with her whole heart.  They truly were the best of friends.

Susan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lindsay, and a true believer in her lord Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her mother Chalotte Tabor of Lindsay, Ok; Son Keith Rogers of Lindsay, Ok; grandson Bailey Rogers; brother Mike Tabor of Tulsa, Ok; sister Kalyn Tabor, Lindsay, Ok; nephews: Dr. Aaron Tabor, Jesse Tabor, Cody Tabor, and Dillon Tabor.

She was preceded in death by her father Kohen Tabor and nephew Jeremy Wilkins.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 4th, 2023, graveside at Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, Ok.  Burial will be under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Ok.  Words of comfort to be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
