Sharon Mae Sublette

Sharon Mae (Hildebrandt) Sublette was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on April 21, 1945, and passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, surrounded by love. She was a devoted wife, cherished mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loyal friend.

Sharon moved to Lindsay, Oklahoma in 1950, and graduated from Lindsay High School in 1963.

Sharon was married to her beloved husband, Jerry Wayne Sublette, for 56 years. Their marriage was a true partnership filled with deep love and commitment. She was the proud mother of three sons: Thomas Jason Sublette, who precedes her in death, and Loren Brock Sublette and Jerry Lance Sublette, both of Lindsay.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Cody Smith of Lindsay, and Kydie Jo Groehler and husband Clay of Lindsay, along with her precious great-grandchild, Whitley Jo Groehler. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Rosaline Hildebrandt of Lindsay, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family members, each of whom she loved dearly and always looked forward to seeing.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Amojean Hildebrandt of Lindsay; brother, Floyd Hildebrandt of Lindsay; and her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Dell Eubanks of Oklahoma City.

Throughout her life, Sharon was deeply involved in raising her sons and never missed a single sporting event or livestock show. She later carried that same love and dedication into the lives of her grandchildren. She was well known for her New Year’s Eve parties for the grandkids and her great-niece Rose, nights filled with candy, fun, and the kind of laughter that becomes lifelong memories.

She always looked forward to trick-or-treat night each fall, when her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and their children would stop by in costume. She always had special treats set aside just for family, and she loved seeing their excitement and sharing in that tradition year after year.

Sharon accepted Christ into her life in April 1954 at First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma, and she earnestly tried to live by her faith, viewing the world with Christian love and compassion. She offered support freely, and while her advice sometimes came unasked, it was always from the heart. She just wanted what was best for those she loved.

She was known to check in with family just to say “I love you” or “Are you doing ok?” and that might be the entire conversation, but it always meant something.

Sharon’s love for QVC was legendary in the family. She would buy things she thought someone might find handy-gifts we all received at some point that had us saying, “Yep, this looked great on the infomercial.” That was Sharon, always thinking of others, always giving from the heart, and always wanting her family to feel loved and cared for.

Sharon loved trips, including touring Europe and spending time in Turkey after graduation. That journey even included a brief visit beyond the newly built Berlin Wall, where she witnessed firsthand what life was like under Soviet control. She also loved her close friends, who she treated like family. She loved to laugh, to gather those she loved, and to make people feel important and seen. More than anything, Sharon wanted her family to stay close, forgive quickly, and love deeply. She will be remembered not just for how lived, but for how she loved.

Per her wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family wished to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers, and thoughts. Sharon would want this to be a happy time, not a sad one, a celebration of love, family, and joyful memories.

Arrangements are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
