Shari Sue Waite

Shari Sue Waite, 84, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026, in Norman, Oklahoma.

Born on April 3, 1942, Shari lived a life centered on caring for others and loving her family well. She worked as a scrub tech at Lindsay Hospital and also in Holdenville, serving with steady hands and a compassionate spirit. Those who knew her understood that caring for people was not simply her work, but part of who she was. She had a servant’s heart and found joy in looking after others in both large and small ways.

Outside of her work, Shari filled her days with the things she loved most. She enjoyed garage sales, antiquing, and crocheting, and she found happiness in gardening and in cooking for her family. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and togetherness, and her biscuits and gravy were a favorite at the family table. She deeply loved her family and treasured spending time with them. In her younger years, she also sang in a trio, sharing her voice and adding another note of warmth to the life she built.

Shari’s memory will be cherished by her daughters, Belinda Jordan and Eddie of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Regina Folks and William, Sr. of Norman, Oklahoma; her brother, Odell Parker of Lindsay, Oklahoma; her sister, Doris Drennan and Joe of Lindsay, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Daniel Jordan and Heidi, Joshua Jordan, Frankie Jordan and Sabrina, Reanna Hamilton and Michael, Daphne Jack and Joseph, William Folks and Cora, and Amas Tenumah; and great-grandchildren, Trevor Jordan, Tyanna Porter, Rae Jordan, Isabella Jordan, Jacob Brumbelow, Tosan Tenumah, Ava Hamilton, Izayah Folks, Josie Folks, Joseph Jack, Jr. , and Cheyenne Benavidez. She leaves behind a family who knew her love through the meals she prepared, the care she gave, and the time she so gladly shared.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Waite; her parents, Glen Jones and Alma and Roden Parker; her brothers, Sammie Glenn Jones and Rudy Parker; and her sisters, Donna Swaim and Rosie Cosby.

Shari will be remembered for her kindness, her generous spirit, and the simple, lasting ways she made people feel loved. Her life was a blessing to those around her, and her memory will continue to be held close by all who knew her.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Antioch Cemetery. Services are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
