Sara Jo Cobb

Sara Jo Cobb was born on February 26, 1948, to Joe Bailey Cobb and Otherine Standifer Cobb in Oklahoma City, OK. Sara passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, in Elmore City, OK at the age of 78.

Sara grew up in Tishomingo, Oklahoma and later moved to Oklahoma City where she graduated from Capitol Hill High School. Sara worked in healthcare at South Community Hospital and OU Medical Center until she retired. Sara devoted her life to taking care of others. Upon retirement Sara decided to move closer to family, where she bought her home in Elmore City, OK.

Throughout her years of retirement Sara spent her time doing the things she loved. Anyone close to her, knew she loved to go to garage sales, estate sales, the Sulphur dog trade, and visit with her neighbors across the street. She loved to be given a task or something to find, and she wouldn’t quit looking until she found it. She always had the best gifts for the kids, finding toys nobody else could find. She truly loved “the kids” and they were her life. Sara also was an avid lover of Boston terriers, and refused to have any other kind of dog. Sara’s dogs Libby, Sooner, and Thunder were not only her companions, they were her family. Sara was a devoted University of Oklahoma Sooner fan all of her life as well as an Oklahoma City Thunder fan. She loved to watch and cheer on her teams. Watching the OKC Thunder win the championship last year was a highlight of hers to say the least. Sara lived a simple life devoted to her family.

Sara is survived by her sister Kay Holt; niece Martha Graham; nephew Joe Holt and Kristin; great-nieces Haylee, Kalyn, Kaci, Mollie, Kami; great-nephews Hank, Caden, Drake, Luke, Hawksyn, Bodie, Tyler, and Payte. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe Bailey and Otherine Cobb; brother Wilson Kingsbery; brother in-law Tommy Holt; and niece Camie Holt.

A graveside service will be held honoring Sara’s life on November 21, 2025, at 5:00 pm at Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma.  Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
