Samuel Warren Shipley

July 10, 1962 — January 24, 2022

Samuel Warren Shipley was born on July 10, 1962 in Oklahoma City, OK.   He passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 in Oklahoma City at the age of 59 years.

Sam graduated from Norman High School in 1980.  After graduation, he joined the Marine Corps and served for five years.

Sam met his wife, Kathi in 1992 and they were married on June 18th, 1994 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

They moved to Lindsay in 1997, where they have resided for the past 25 years.

Sam worked in parts and distribution most of his working career.  He worked for National Oilwell VARCO, in Lindsay, for over 20 years, many of those as the Parts Manager.  Most recently, he worked in the Parts Department at Seth Wadley Ford in Pauls Valley, OK.

Sam was a simple, quiet man who loved the simple things in life.  He loved the outdoors and nature, camping, fishing, grilling, watching sunsets and hanging out with family and friends and OU Softball. Sam was an avid reader and historian.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Sam is survived by his wife, Kathi, his daughters, Laci Walker and husband Ricky, Kali Medellin and husband, Max, all of Lindsay, OK.

His grandchildren, Taylor Hughes, Kamryn Wallace, Jerry Knox Medellin, Samuel Kash Medellin and Cayce Walker.

Also, his parents, Leli and CB Meador, of Norman, OK and his in-laws, Mary and Jerry Lacy, of Lindsay, OK.

A sister, Carole Bucher and husband Mark, of Ada, OK, brother, Joe Meador, of Oklahoma City, OK and brother-in-law, Shawn Classen, of Fairview, OK, sister-in-law, Lauri Howell and husband Leslie of Lindsay, OK and many special nieces, nephews, an aunt, and many cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his sister, Dedra Classen, and twin grandchildren, Raya and Max Medellin.

A memorial committal service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK with Lester Grumbles officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.  Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
