Sammy Ray Miller

Sammy Ray Miller of Lindsay was born December 12, 1950 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Claud Miller and Beatrice Mary Jane (Godwin) Miller and passed from this life on Monday, March 28, 2022 in Oklahoma City at the age of 71 years. Sammy grew up in Wynnewood and joined the U. S. Marine Corps and served his country during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a very proud Marine and Veteran. Sammy married Martha Moore on August 22, 1969 in Maysville, Oklahoma and they made their home in Wynnewood until they moved to the Lindsay area in 1987. He loved his family and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. Sammy was a self-employed farmer who enjoyed his work; riding horses, camping, riding three wheelers, and fishing, but only when he was catching something. He will be greatly missed by his family. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Martha of the home. Sons: Sammy Miller, Jr.; Danny and Kristi Miller; and daughter, Kathy Miller. Grandchildren: Devon Miller, Austin and Candace Miller; Matthew Miller, Lana Lane, Caleb and Lizi Wilson; Shannon & Brandon Griffith; and Cheyenne Kerschner. Great Grandchildren: Renlee, Nacobi, Kashton, plus bonus children; Preston, Myka, and Carter; Peyton, Gaston, Adaline, Bryleigh, Maxston, Zerrick, and Cailyn. Brothers: Jim and Virginia Miller of Arkansas; and Lewis and Angie Miller of Blanchard. Sisters: Lois and Johnny Baxter of Lone Grove; and Delois Moore of Dibble. Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Beatrice Miller; and brothers, Bobby Miller, Claudie Miller, and Willie Miller. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the First Assembly of God Church, Lindsay, OK with Bro. Stan Ledford and Bro. Rodney Hutchison officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay under the direction of John W. Willliams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
