Roddy Gene Childers was born on September 8, 1968, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Ronald and Carolyn (Dutton) Childers and passed away on January 22, 2024, in Denton, Texas at the age of 55 years.

Roddy was a graduate of Lindsay High School. Roddy married Shawna Cole and they made their home in Marietta.  Roddy was a master carpenter by trade and had also founded, created, built and took great pride in several businesses including: Childers Trailers, Mom and Pops at Lake Murray, Top Gun Painting, Childers Painting, Adventure Painting, R and R Auto, and Triple C Tackle.  His most recent adventure was helping two of his boys start up their own business, Limitless Construction.

Roddy was big on watching sports, especially OU.  BOOMER SOONER!!  If it wasn’t a sporting event he was watching, I’ll bet you a sweet tea it was Duck Dynasty.  He coached little league baseball and basketball.  He enjoyed riding four wheelers, dirt bikes, and jet skis.  Roddy loved fishing, camping, and hanging out at the lake with his family.

Roddy was really big on family and making sure everyone was taken care of.  He would give you whatever you needed as long as he was able.  Roddy will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
