Rita Fern (Morse) Paredes of Chickasha, formerly of Antlers was born on April 14, 1953 in Lindsay to Velma Jewell (Taylor) James. She passed away peacefully on Monday, March 15, 2021 in Chickasha at the age of 67 years.
Rita graduated from Maysville High School in 1971, then went on to attend Rose State College, where she obtained her Associates Degree in Nursing to become a Registered Nurse. Rita worked at several nursing homes over the years before retiring. She lived in Antlers before moving to Chickasha about 5 years ago to be closer to her children. While living in southeastern Oklahoma, she enjoyed watching the deer and other animals as a form of relaxation. Rita loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading and watching westerns, especially the ones with John Wayne in them. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Her survivors include her son, Dustin Joyner and wife Misty of Chickasha; and daughter, Pilar Tims of Chickasha.
Grandchildren: Shea Joyner, Magen Joyner, Dusty Joyner, and Deacon Joyner; and Charlie Walls, Lilliana Tims, and Kingsley Tims.
Sister, Minnie Powell of Oklahoma City.
Rita was preceded in death by her mother, Velma James; daughter, Tyler White; and sister, Beverly Gillham Rogers.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville with Tyler Sprabery officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of John W.
