Richard Clarence Hilliard was born July 7, 1942 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Clarence Edward (Dick) and Zethel Roark Hilliard. He departed this Earthly life August 12, 2019 in his home, surrounded by family and friends and special angels sent from God, who cared for him his last few weeks in Lindsay, Oklahoma, where he lived since 1952.

He met his future wife that same year in the Lindsay School. During their Junior year in High School, they began to date, and married after graduation, on September 5, 1961. To this union was born their son Brent in 1964, and Brent’s marriage in 1985 added their daughter, Lisa, and to their union added granddaughter Nicole in 1989 and granddaughter Myranda in 1994.

Richard worked in the oilfield, hauling oilfield pipe and equipment in the family trucking business, where he made many friends and saw many changes through the years. He liked working, and enjoyed gardening and woodworking, as well as working in the Masonic Lodge, where he was a 32nd-Degree Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie, of the home; his son, Brent, daughter Lisa, granddaughters Nicole Hilliard and Blake Tillery, and Myranda Hilliard, all of Lindsay; sister-in-law Loreece Dennis of Lindsay, sister-in-law Emma Jo Hilliard of Pauls Valley, niece Linda Work of Norman, niece Emily Spence and husband Larry of Pauls Valley, and their families; also survived by the Erin Springs Baptist Church family who supported him during his illness; and a cousin, Karen Jones, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Mr. Hilliard was preceded in death by his mother and father, Zethel and Dick Hilliard, and by his brother, J.C. (Tinker) Hilliard.

He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
