Preston Will Keck

Preston Will Keck was born on July 5, 1946 in Marlow, Oklahoma to Katherine (Sandefur) Keck and Roy Keck. Preston departed this world at the age of 78 and into the arms of Jesus on May 16, 2025.

Preston, or “Bub” as he was known by many, attended Lindsay, Oklahoma school until the seventh grade when his family moved to the Hughes community. He loved playing football with his friends at Lindsay, but after moving, his passion changed to basketball and baseball. He lettered in basketball and baseball and was the President of his Senior class. In this small rural school, Preston made friendships that would last throughout his life. He graduated from Hughes High School in 1964. After graduating high school, he went to Ohio for about six months to work in the oilfield to make money for college. He lied about his age in order to get his first job there, as he was not yet eighteen. He then returned to Oklahoma, and started to East Central College (now known as ECU). It was back at home that summer while “dragging main” in Lindsay that he met his true love, Linda Jean Lindsey at Ballards Dairy King. Preston never met a stranger and always greeted them with a smile. It was that big, beautiful smile that won Linda over from the beginning. The two were married on September 23, 1967 in Lindsay at the Calvary Baptist Church and set out on a journey that would last almost 58 years.

Preston graduated with a Bachelors degree and set out on a teaching and coaching career. His first position was in Ardmore, OK, followed by a position in Healdton, OK, where he coached High School Boys basketball, Junior High football and Junior High track and taught science. Later, while living and working in Edmond, OK, Preston accrued some credits toward a masters degree at Central State University (now known as UCO). He moved his family to Velma, OK where he worked in the oil industry for Lindsey Well Service, Inc.

Preston and Linda were blessed with two sons, Randy Neal and Kevin Kyle. The boys mirrored their father’s energy and zest for life. From the beginning and throughout Preston’s life, his boys loved and participated in just about everything that he loved, from basketball and baseball to fishing, hunting and of course, golf. This gave them such a bond that made them not only close father and sons, but buddies forever. Preston enjoyed coaching his sons T-ball teams and was so proud as they learned sportsmanship and manners and were friendly and respectful to everyone.

After some years, Preston became the General Manager of Lindsey Well Service, Inc. and moved his family back to Lindsay, OK. As manager of the well service, he was successful, honest and fair.

In the last years of managing the well service, Preston and his wife Linda started their own oilfield supply company, K & K Supply, Inc. Later they also opened another business, Preston Keck Safety Services.

As the family grew, so did Preston’s love, His great delight was when grandchildren started to come into his world. A loving father and great example to his children, Preston was an even more proud Papa. He loved that they pursued sports or athletic avenues like cheerleading. Whether it was basketball, soccer, football or golf, he attended or followed their games or matches faithfully as long as possible. He loved every bit of it. He could be counted on to provide encouragement and a big smile. Preston was always so proud of his sons and his grandchildren’s accomplishments whether academically, athletically or in their careers.

Saved at an early age, Preston was later baptised on April 21, 2002 at Erin Springs Baptist Church and became a faithful member of the church. He served as a deacon at ESBC for many years and could always be counted on to serve the church. He taught a men’s Sunday School Class for many years, and he was steadfast in studying the Bible. He tried to spread the good news wherever he went so that none should perish. One thing that Preston would want everyone to know is that Jesus is our one true Savior and the light of the world. To that, Preston would definitely raise his voice and say a strong and loud “Amen”! His family and friends will miss him immeasurably until we see him at that great reunion in Heaven.

Preston is survived by the love of his life, his wife Linda Keck of Lindsay, Oklahoma; sons: Randy Keck and wife Cathy of Troy, Alabama and Kevin Keck and wife Nikki of Amber, Oklahoma; brothers: Patton David Keck of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Rocky Keck and wife Teresa of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Wilroy Keck and wife Sissy of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Lawrence Keck and wife Bobbie of Bray, Oklahoma and Eldon Keck and wife Donna of Countyline, Oklahoma; sisters, Sandra Ellithorp of Norman, Oklahoma and Pam Honeycutt and husband Jimmy of Elmore City, Oklahoma and a sister-in-law, Karen Keck of Oklahoma City.
