Patricia Ann Mashburn

Patricia (Pat) Ann Bray Mashburn was born December 15, 1940, to Roy Lee Bray and Sedalia Swindell Bray in Lindsay, Oklahoma. She stepped into the presence of her Lord on December 16, 2025, eighty-five years later.

A life-long Lindsay resident, Pat was many things to many people. As an educator, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Southeast Oklahoma University and Master’s degree from Oklahoma State University. Mrs. Mashburn was the teacher who made students feel welcome, safe and noticed, encouraging them to explore the gifts that God has given them. Earning Teacher of the Year honors, she also expanded her impact as the Adult Coordinator at Mid-America vo-tech and an Assistant State Superintendent for the Oklahoma State Department of Vocational Education.

Down on Main Street Lindsay, she was an entrepreneur and Chamber of Commerce leader, owning businesses such as an auto parts store, Pat’s Shu Shack and Celebrations. Her businesses were the place to go for a friendly smile and conversation while shopping.

Pat was baptized at the age of twelve and lived her life serving God by serving others. In her church, she was the member that could always be counted on to show up and serve at funeral dinners, host showers, rock babies and teach Sunday School. God’s kingdom has been enlarged because Pat shared her time, wisdom and selfless giving of whatever she had.

To her friends, Pat was the spark that ignited every interaction. Engaging, interested and quick with a laugh, she left her many friends feeling appreciated, welcomed, and knowing that Pat Mashburn was in their corner no matter what.

And to her family, she was a daughter, a sister, a niece, cousin and aunt. She was a wife, a mother, mother-in-law, a grandmother and great-grandmother. For these, she was the glue that held everything together: the steady, dependable presence and open arms and unconditional love that made every occasion feel special.

Whether you called her Pat, Trish, Mom, Mother, Grandma, Abuela or Big Mommy, anyone who has the blessing of having Pat Mashburn in their life can think of her with a full heart.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Bray and Sedalia Swindell Bray, her husband of 63 years, Bob Mashburn, her brother, Bill Bray, and granddaughter, Ashley Ann Whitlow. She is survived by her daughter Kristi Whitlow and husband Ryan of Oklahoma City and her son, Blake Mashburn and wife Nancy Mashburn of Lindsay. Also missing her dearly are her grandchildren, Carl Mashburn (Joanne) of Phoenix, AZ; Amy Richardson (Clark) of Lindsay, Kelli Conway (Chris) of Lindsay, Kacy Rodriguez (Rick) of Moore; and Leslie Gorham (Chad) of Edmond, OK. She also leaves memories for seven great-grandchildren: Bailey, Sydni, Hope, Hunter, Grace, Isabel, Kate and Carson. She is survived by one brother, Ken Bray and his wife Debbie of Houston, TX.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Erin Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Ridgway officiating.  Burial to follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma under the direction of John W.
