Michael Thomas Gibson

Michael Thomas Gibson, a resident of Lindsay, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly on January 27, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on November 5, 1969, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, to Ronnie and Virginia (Henson) Gibson, Michael was known to many as a simple man who never met a stranger.

In his professional life, Michael served as a golf course attendant for the City of Lindsay. It was here that his love for nature and the outdoors shone through. He cherished the opportunity to engage with those around him, sharing stories, laughter, and a sense of community.

Family was at the heart of Michael's existence. He adored his three daughters, Nocona, Tasha, and Tonya, who were his greatest pride and joy. His love extended to his many grandchildren—Delaney, Kinzey, Ciera, Haven, Rowynn, Daisy, Lilly, Brandon Jr., Briella, and Ronin—each of whom held a special place in his heart. Michael found immense joy in spending time with his family; these moments were invaluable to him.

Beyond family ties, Michael had a zest for life that manifested in his hobbies and interests. He loved fishing and snipe hunting. Riding motorcycles was a passion that allowed him to feel the wind on his face, while deer hunting connected him to the land he loved. An innate tinkerer, Michael found happiness in taking things apart and putting them back together—always curious, always learning.

His playful spirit was noted in the way he would always pick on people, bringing laughter and joy to those who knew him. For Michael, humor was a gift he shared generously.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Nocona Mashaney of Del City, Oklahoma, Tasha Gibson of Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Tonya Ashley and Jake Rutledge of Lindsay; his beloved grandchildren: Delaney, Kinzey, Ciera, Haven, Rowynn, Daisy, Lilly, Brandon, Jr., Briella, and Ronin; his brother, Thomas Gibson and Monica of Lindsay, Oklahoma; aunt, Debbie Bell and Delbert of Lindsay, Oklahoma; and nephews: Robby Gibson and Kasey of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Klinton Gibson and Aubrey of Lindsay, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Ronnie and Virginia Gibson; great grandmother, Florence Davis; and his dog, Sugar.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Oklahoma. Cremation is under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
