Michael Richard Davis, Sr.

Michael Richard Davis, Sr. of Lindsay was born on December 3, 1955 in Claremore, OK to Fred Marion Davis, Sr. and Mary “Judy” Della (Knox) Davis. He passed from this life Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Norman, OK surrounded by his family. Mike was a lifetime resident of Lindsay, graduating from Lindsay High School in 1974. He had a very strong work ethic instilled in him by his dad. Fred Sr. taught him how to operate a rathole digger at the age of 13. He continued to work alongside his family and friends for years. Mike then moved on to cross country trucking. Eventually returning to run Fred’s Rathole Service, Inc. alongside his dad before becoming President of the company. He was well respected in the oil industry. He taught all of his children the true meaning of hard work. Mike loved his family. He was a giver and he loved BIG. His mission in life became making sure his mom and dad had everything they wanted or needed. His children and grandchildren were very important to him and he was enjoying the time in his life when he was able to be there for everything. Mike was always willing to sponsor and help his community and the surrounding communities in any way that he could. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He had a lot of lifelong friends and cherished those relationships. He loved OU football. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

His survivors include his fiancée, Barbara Bruce of the home.
Children: Mindy Presgrove and Stacy of Edmond, Deidre Marcum and Dewayne of Lindsay, Mike Davis, Jr. and Jessica of Lindsay, Benjamin Davis and Megan of Maysville, Chris Close and Ashley of Maysville, Zachary Patterson and Emily of Durant.
Sister, Jody Holden and Mark of Lindsay.
Grandchildren: Taylor Carlow and husband Taylor, Jaxson Presgrove, Dani Marcum, Fred Davis, Gracelynn Gordon, Hayes Davis, Grady Davis, Brayden Adams, Rylan Close, Reagan Close, Daelyn Close, Henry Patterson and one great grandchild, Kaesyn Adams.
Sister-in-law, Lisa Davis of Lindsay and brother-in-law, Mike Rushing of Lindsay.
He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Fred M. Davis, Sr. and Judy Davis; brothers Fred M. Davis, Jr. and Jeffery Allan Davis; sister, Shari Lynn Rushing and sons Chad Adams and John Patterson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, April 26, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, Lindsay, OK with Rev. David Shahan and Rev. Nick Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
