January 10, 1930 — October 18, 2023

Mary Katherine (Thomas) Stubblefield passed peacefully from this life Wednesday, October 18, at the age of 93. She was born January 10, 1930, in Bokoshe, OK to William and Laura (Wiles) Thomas. Mary attended school in Buck Creek, OK. She graduated from the eighth grade as Valedictorian of her class.  As was common for that time period, Mary then worked taking care of her younger siblings and helping out on the family farm.

On October 17, 1953, she married her sweetheart Richard Gordon Stubblefield in Oklahoma City. The oilfield brought the couple to Lindsay in 1955, and they made their home there together for over 51 years until Richard passed in 2007.

Mary was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She loved cooking for her family, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoying coffee and tea with her friends in the neighborhood. Mary and her husband enjoyed raising their vegetable gardens each summer, and she spent countless hours canning the harvest. She also enjoyed watching The Bachelor, Wheel of Fortune, and Days of Our Lives. She loved playing Yahtzee and card games as well as putting together jigsaw puzzles. More than anything, Mary deeply loved her family and thoroughly enjoyed her time spent with them; especially spoiling her grandkids and great- grandkids.

She is also survived by one sister Eva Sue Morgan of Poteau, OK and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents William and Laura Thomas, brothers Gerald Thomas and Calvin Thomas; sisters Bertha Boitel, Ocie Brown, Pauline Tackett, and Barbara Dolph.
