Mary Frances Scott was born April 16, 1928, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Olin and Dozie (Abernathy) Roberts. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at her home outside Maysville, Oklahoma at the age of 97 years.
Mary was first and foremost a homemaker. There was always something to eat at Mary’s house or around her campfire. Every year she raised a large garden, and she enjoyed canning and sharing what she grew. She loved chickens – she was forgiving of “foxy” roosters with attitudes. Children at Maysville Public Schools also enjoyed her meals while she was employed in the school cafeteria. For a time, she was a caregiver at Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman.
Mary’s family cherished her deeply. Though she has departed from this world, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and those lucky enough to know her. Her love for her family and passion for life is an inspiration to all who follow in her footsteps. She will be greatly missed but fondly remembered for her kindness, strength, and dedication to her loved ones.
Mary is survived by: son, Don Scott of Maysville, Oklahoma; daughter, Carla Wollenberg of Perkins, Oklahoma; brother, Will Roberts and Norma of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; grandson, Justin Wollenberg and Celia; granddaughter, Gena Wollenberg; and great grandchildren: Michel (“Monty”) and Aiden; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary is preceded in death by: parents, Olin and Dozie Roberts; husband, Carl Scott; brothers, Joe and Billy Roberts; sister and brother-in-law, Ida Lou Prather and Ray Dean; and son-in-law Gene Wollenberg.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Maysville Cemetery, in Maysville, Oklahoma under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
