Mary Juanita Richmond

Mary Juanita Richmond of Wayne was born the oldest daughter Bual Alford and Mary Elizabeth (Davis) McKee on June 5, 1922 in Maysville, Oklahoma. She left this earth for her Heavenly home on August 5, 2022, exactly 2 months after her 100th birthday.

Juanita grew up in Maysville. She married Raymond R. Richmond on October 25, 1940 in Purcell, Oklahoma. They lived in Wayne for many years where they owned and operated Raymond’s One Stop. She worked in the Sunday School Office at First Baptist Church in Wayne for 19 years and worked for Dr. Nunnally for 17 years. Raymond passed away in 1978 and Juanita continued to live in Wayne until she moved to an assisted living facility in Pauls Valley. She loved her family very much. She enjoyed all flowers, and cooking. Juanita won the “Yard of the Year” in Wayne for several years. She also loved to sew for her daughters. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Pauls Valley. Juanita will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are daughters: Patty Gayle Mills of Portland, Oregon; and Rita Kaye Swafford and husband, Jim of Tulsa.
Sister, Claudine Ewing of Purcell.
Grandchildren: Julie Slover, Lori Redpath, Jay Mills, Janna Carothers, Sharla Stephens, and Meleah Bryant; great grandchildren: Treva Redpath, Chase Redpath, Blake Slover, Seth Carothers, Trey Carothers, Silas Stephens, Jimmy Reinier, and William Bryant: great-great grandchildren: Oliver Finch Reiner and baby boy Carothers.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Bual and Elizabeth McKee; husband of 36 years, Raymond R. Richmond; and a sister, Elsie Inez Young.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, August 12, 2022 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
