Marvin Ray Dean Clark, Sr.

January 29, 1942 — March 21, 2021

Marvin Ray Dean Clark, Sr. of Stillwater, Oklahoma, formerly of Comanche, Oklahoma was born on January 29, 1942 in Flagstaff, Arizona to Luke DaVoult and Jo Ann (Hearon) Folks. He passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 in Stillwater at the age of 79 years.

Ray lived in California before moving to Oklahoma in 1979. He married Laura Faye Sumpter and to this union three children were born, Laurie, Gina, and Marvin. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp and was very proud of his military background. Ray loved California and was a true hippie at heart. He worked as a welder for Talbott Welding making hot oil tankers during the “Oil Booms”. He was very family oriented who loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Ray was a total outdoor person who had a green thumb and could raise fruit trees and even avocados in Oklahoma.

His survivors include his son, Marvin Ray Dean Clark, Jr. of Stillwater.
Daughter, Gina Milburn of Sand Springs.
Brothers: Arvel “Buddy” Clark and wife Louise of Lindsay; Bill DaVoult and wife Cindi of Waurika; Don DaVoult and wife Pam of Duncan; and Danny DaVoult and wife Stacey of Erin Springs.
Sisters: Mary Owens of Foster; and Martha Mitchell and husband Charles of Lindsay.
And 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Susan Rae Clark; daughter, Laurie King; sister, LaWanda Sharp; and brother, James DaVoult, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville with Van Pollard officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
