Margie Rose Lambert Bond, or Marge, as she was known to many, died quietly on October 19, 2024 with her most cherished loved ones by her side.
This won't be a traditional obituary, because while she was what is considered traditional in many ways, she was also unique, and we are gathering to celebrate, not to mourn.
Margie was born in Louisiana and lived California, Texas, and Louisiana, then spent her final years back in Oklahoma.
She had an interesting career life. After being instrumental in improving working conditions at a certain fishing lure factory, she took the reins at Little Stinker. This led to her becoming involved in selling outdoor sporting equipment. She met Ted Nugent, but didn't know who he was. She appeared as a guest fisherman on The Jimmy Houston Show. She actually enjoyed fishing and spent many afternoons at a pond with a bucket of minnows and her aunt Jimmie Bean or Elsie Burdette, or friend Gladys Weatherford or Temple Richardson.
Margie loved animals, and considered herself grandma to Carrie and Lauren's pets. They were always well treated at Christmas, sometimes taking the bigger haul.
She was a Girl Scout troop leader and an active sponsor of all her kids' outings. We couldn't get away with anything.
Lots of us will miss her:
Husband of 58 years Sydney, with whom she raised her family then traveled the world. Daughter Carrie, Carrie Sue to most of you. Daughter and son in law Lisa and Chris Forbis. Daughter and son in law Joanie and Dewayne Bordelon. Grandson William Landers. Granddaughter and grandson in law Lauren Toth and Drake Gordon. Sister Fern Nichols. Two nieces, one nephew. A host of cousins and friends.
Her parents, in laws, oldest sister, three nephews, and a niece preceded her in this final journey.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26th at The Foundation Church in Maysville, Oklahoma. All are invited to celebrate her life.
Love one another and be kind. Margie would enjoy that.
