Loretha Ann Dills

Loretha Ann Dills, 82, of Oklahoma City was born November 29, 1943, to William (Pickle) and Anita Dills in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Loretha passed away peacefully on December 25th in Oklahoma City.

Loretha graduated from Maysville High School with the Warrior Class of 1961 where she enjoyed several activities, especially basketball. Loretha was one of four freshmen pulled up to play on the high school team to complete a twelve-person squad. She was active in Rainbow Girls, FHA and many other school and church activities. After graduation, Loretha married Lonnie Lee Combs and was blessed with three children: Deborah Ann, David Lee, and Daryla Sue. Loretha worked for Wilson Packing Plant, Western Electric, Oklahoma City Clinic as a surgical nurse, and at General Motors. After retiring from GM, she was the chauffeur for an assisted living community where she also served as recreation director. With this, Loretha found her true calling. With her caring and fun-loving nature, she created a family atmosphere for all the residents.

Loretha loved to sing, dance, crochet, cook, and play competitive board games, dominos, and cards. She taught her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews to love games, be competitive, and to be good sportsmen. She also taught them her chili recipe, how to bob for apples, and to look for adventures in life. She was an avid reader, encouraging everyone to continue learning something new. Loretha particularly enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting and school events. She provided an unwavering atmosphere of love and commitment to everyone in her family. Loretha was extremely proud of her children and their accomplishments. She loved her children passionately and worked diligently to provide a rich, comfortable environment for them and their friends. Everyone was always welcomed like family at Loretha’s house.

Her dynamic personality showed what a lively yet compassionate person she was. Loretha will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Loretha was proceeded in death by her grandparents, W.D. and Nora Carrel Eden, Robert and Clara Enyart Dills; parents, William Raymond and Anita Gray Eden Dills; and sister-in-law Linda Dills.
