Lindle Smith

Lindle Wayne Smith was born on January 3, 1951, in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Raymond and Lou Ada (Gosnell) Smith. He passed away peacefully at his home in Lindsay on June 7, 2025, at the age of 74 years.

Lindle was a lifelong resident of the Lindsay area. He attended school in Bradley and Dibble before graduating from Home Schooling. Lindle married Alice Snelson on June 4, 1970, they celebrated 55 years of marriage just a few days prior to his passing. The couple had three children: Bryon, Paul, and Connie. Lindle was a loving husband and father.

Lindle had previously worked as a truck driver for Steve Hall in Lindsay for 12 years. But he was known best as being a firefighter for the city of Lindsay before retiring after 25 years of service. 

Lindle was man of many skills, a jack of all trades. Whether he was working on old cars, doing upholstery work, or building bee boxes Lindle was doing what he enjoyed and it was guaranteed that it was a quality job. Lindle loved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working his cattle. 

Lindle is survived by: wife, Alice Smith; sons: Bryon Smith and Jennifer of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Paul Smith and Shawna of Lindsay, Oklahoma; daughter, Connie Fowler and Brandon of Lindsay, Oklahoma; brother, Ernest Smith of Sulphur, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Destinee, Garrett, Hunter, Sahra, Cody, Kydie, Jenna, Levi, Braelyn, Jackson, Alexis, and Taylor; great grandchildren: Josephine, Amelia, Kalianna, Whitley, Evelyn (Evie), Harper, Weston, Kase, and Sterling.

Lindle is preceded in death by: parents, Raymond and Lou Ada Smith and sister, Jeanette Hunter.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort can be sent to the family on this website.
