Lillie Mae Whitis

December 17, 1936 — May 14, 2022

Lillie Mae Whitis of Norman was born on December 17, 1936 north of Story, Oklahoma to Dink “Dee” Lawter Frizell and Gertrude “Trudie” Ethel (Edge) Frizell. She passed from this world at 10 o’clock Friday night, May 13, 2022 at the age of 85 years.

Lillie grew up in the Story and Maysville area, graduating from Maysville High School in 1957. In 1972 she married Donald R. Whitis and together they served the Lord, ministering at many churches and taking mission trips. She enjoyed being a children’s teacher in each church and creating teaching material for the children she worked with. She believed in being prepared for any situation always having WD-40, flashlights, and flyswatters available. Lillie was known for her dinner rolls that she learned to make from her mother and would always bring a relish tray for family gatherings. She loved OU football and watching it on television with family. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Lillie will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her siblings: her twin brother,Billy Frizell of Maysville, Betty Engdahl of Purcell, and Bonnie West of Yukon.
Her sister-in-law, Dorris Long and husband Willie; and many nieces and nephews.

Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents, Dee and Trudie Frizell; sisters, Dora Keeler and Barbara Eckel; brothers, Raymond, D. L., James, and Eugene Frizell; and sisters-in- law and other family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville with Pastor Steve Lance officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to www.winansfuneralhome.com
