Larry Don Alexander

Larry Don Alexander of Wynnewood was born on October 7, 1950 in Ada, Oklahoma to Orval and Yvonne (Hendricks) Tipton and passed from this life on Monday, December 3, 2018 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years.
Larry grew up in Asher graduating from Asher High School in 1968 and East Central University in 1993 with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and Counseling. He served his country in the United States Navy. He married Rita Pharaoh on February 2, 1974 in the First Baptist Church at Maysville. Larry worked as a self-employed truck driver at Tinker Field and in the oilfield and a manager for T.G. &Y. Stores across Oklahoma. Later he worked at the Department of Human Services in Pauls Valley before his health forced him to take a medical retirement. He loved his family and was a man with a tremendous sense of humor and a lot of fun to be around. Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to music, especially classic rock, and working with children in his job. He was an avid gun collector and trader. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Pauls Valley and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
His survivors include his wife of 44 years, Rita of the home in Wynnewood.
A son, Curtis Alexander and wife Jessica of Coweta, and daughter, Krystal Alexander of Oklahoma City.
Brother, Orval Tipton and wife Penny of Paoli and a sister, Cynthia Wright and husband, Donnie of Asher.
Grandchildren: Dylan Alexander and Creede Alexander.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Yvonne Tipton.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 6 pm, Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Winans Funeral Home, 405 Sixth Street (Hwy 19), Maysville, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Liberty Baptist Church, Pauls Valley with Jeff Pharaoh officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
