Kris Shane Cummins passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, in Norman, Oklahoma, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on January 2, 1972, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kris lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and a warm-hearted spirit that touched all who knew him.
Kris earned his Master's Degree and was the proud owner and operator of his own CPA business since 2001. His passion for his work was evident in the care and commitment he gave to his clients. He truly enjoyed what he did, finding fulfillment not just in numbers but in the relationships he built through his profession. His generosity extended beyond his business, as he delighted in giving to others, finding genuine joy in acts of kindness.
Kris believed in giving back to the community. He volunteered countless hours on the Lindsay School Board as well as the Lindsay Hospital Board.
A man who loved deeply, Kris cherished his family above all. He was the loving husband of Jamie Cummins and a devoted father to his son Andrew and daughters Ashlynn and Abigayle. His heart was further filled by the birth of his grandson Silas. Kris’s love for his family was a constant source of pride and happiness throughout his life.
In his leisure time, Kris was an avid traveler who embraced the beauty of the world, especially enjoying visits to Mexico, the beach, and the magic of Disney World. His enthusiasm for the simple pleasures of life extended to his hobbies—golf was a beloved pastime, and he was a passionate supporter of the Oklahoma Sooners, cheering for both the OU football and softball teams. A true foodie with a sweet tooth, Kris delighted in discovering new flavors and sharing meals with those he loved.
Kris Shane Cummins leaves behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and unwavering love. Though he will be deeply missed, those who knew him carry forward his spirit by remembering the many ways he gave love so freely.
In this moment of grief, there is also gratitude for a life well-lived, for the peace Kris found in his final moments, and for the enduring mark he left on his family and friends.
Kris is survived by: loving wife, Jamie Cummins; son, Andrew Cummins and Abi of Newcastle, Oklahoma; daughters: Ashlynn Corene Loving and Jordan of Sioux City, Iowa and Abigayle Cummins and Brian Trammell of Norman, Oklahoma; brothers: Kurt Cummins and Gwen of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Kevin Cummins and Rana of Houston, Texas; and grandson, Silas.
Kris is preceded in death by his parents, Lealan and Quanah Cummins.
Viewing is available from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 2026, and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2026, at The First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Internment at Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
