Kenneth Alford Russell

Kenneth Alford Russell, beloved by family and friends, passed away on July 10, 2026, in Norman, Oklahoma. Born on March 10, 1951, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Kenneth lived a life rooted in hard work, deep relationships, and a love for the simple pleasures that brought him joy.

A proud graduate of Paoli High School, Kenneth demonstrated a strong work ethic from an early age. His professional journey led him into the oil field, a career he both enjoyed and excelled in. He cherished the opportunities his work presented—the new places he experienced and, most of all, the enduring friendships he built along the way. Kenneth previously worked for Halliburton and Tolin & Johnson before his retirement from Garvin County District 3. No matter the job, he was respected for his dedication and the positive relationships he cultivated with colleagues and acquaintances alike.

Kenneth found happiness in the bonds he shared with family and friends. He deeply valued the friendship he had with Jody Gibson, whom he considered a brother. The warmth of those connections provided him with much joy and support throughout his life. Kenneth was a devoted uncle to Lora, Lisa, Amanda and Larry Wayne. Their memories with him will forever be treasured.

Kenneth's passions extended to cheering for the OU Sooners and the New York Yankees, teams he followed with great enthusiasm. Simple pleasures, such as savoring a glass of unsweet tea, were small but meaningful comforts that brought a smile to his face.

Through his dedication to his work, loyalty to friends, and love for his family, Kenneth leaves a legacy of kindness, hard work, and authentic relationships that will endure for years to come. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him and whose lives he touched.

Kenneth is survived by: nieces: Lora Arnold, Lisa Russell Harris, and Amanda Maybin; nephew, Larry Russell; and numerous great-nephews and nieces.

Kenneth is preceded in death by: parents, GF and Sylvia (Autry) Russell and brother, Larry Thomas Russell.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Oklahoma. Burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
