Judy Marie Blankenship was born on February 18, 1951, in Bloomfield, Missouri to Jack and Betty (Berry) Blankenship. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 19, 2025, at her home in Maysville, Oklahoma.

Judy grew up in St. Louis and Advance, Missouri. She graduated from Advance High School in May of 1970 alongside her brother, Harold Blankenship.

In December of 1969 she married Dwight Townsend. Together they had three daughters: Latasha Marie, Libby Michelle, and Leisha Mardell. The family moved around a lot. Dwight, Judy, the three girls, Judy’s mom and dad, her brother and sister-in-law worked on pipelines in refineries in Texas, Utah, Kansas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Oklahoma to name a few.

When it came time for Latasha to enter the ninth grade, Judy decided it was time to stay in one place. That place was Maysville, Oklahoma where Judy resided from 1985 until her passing in 2025.

Judy worked at McCaskill Nursing Home as a cook, Joyce’s Café as a waitress, and the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center as a cook for 21 years. She also sold Tupperware. Years later she worked for Christian Life Daycare in Purcell, Oklahoma where she became known by the children there as “Miss Judy”.

Judy was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Maysville since 1985 where she served as Sunday School teacher, Rainbows, Top Kids and was WM’s President. She attended many church camps and youth trips as a sponsor for the kids. She did all of these things, but if you asked her “she didn’t like kids”.

Her hobbies included camping and crochet. She loved to follow any activity that included her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She traveled out of state, sat through many livestock shows, hot weather and cold weather ball games, rainy ball games and dance recitals.

In 2010 she married Dutch Beavers. Dutch was a diesel mechanic and Judy would go with him on many service calls (day or night). Many times, she would run parts to him on whatever he was working on.

Judy loved being a member of “The Red Hatters”. She would ask everyone that was old enough if they wanted to become a member.

If you met Judy, you would most likely never forget her.

Judy is survived by: daughters: Latasha Tidwell of Advance, Missouri, Libby Potts (Frank) of Paoli, Oklahoma, and Leisha Keesee (Shannon) of Elmore City, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Seth Potts (Tammi) of Paoli, Oklahoma, Natalie Keesee (James Warren) of Paoli, Oklahoma, Darci Tidwell of Advance, Missouri, and Niki Keesee of Elmore City, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren: Piper Potts, Autumn Warren, and Penelope Potts; and brother, Harold Blankenship of Advance, Missouri.

Judy is preceded in death by: the father of her children, Dwight Townsend; husband, Dutch Beavers; parents, Jack and Betty Blankenship; grandparents, Archie Berry and Lottie Berry-Skinner and Carl Skinner as well as James and Katherine Blankenship.
