Jerry Dale Martin

Jerry Dale Martin, a devoted family man and proud Army veteran, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on June 30, 1947, in Lindsay, Oklahoma, Jerry lived a life marked by dedication, love, and community service.

Jerry proudly served his country as a member of the Army, instilling in him a deep sense of duty and commitment that carried through every aspect of his life. After his military service, he dedicated many years as a deputy appraiser for Cleveland County.

Above all else, Jerry’s greatest pride was his family. He cherished his loving wife, Sue Martin, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and unwavering devotion. Jerry was blessed with an extensive and loving family, including 31 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy into his life. The bond he shared with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was particularly special, as he delighted in playing with them and watching their lives unfold with pride.

Jerry's life was also filled with simple pleasures that brought him great happiness. He found joy in trips to Branson and time spent at the lake. He was a true lover of western movies and had a knack for working on lawnmowers. Additionally, he was a member of the American Legion, embracing the camaraderie and shared purpose of community.

Jerry is survived by: loving wife, Sue Martin; sons: Russell Jones and Valerie of Lexington, Oklahoma, Brandon Jones of Lexington, Oklahoma, and Shane Martin of Healdton, Oklahoma; daughters: Tina Heffington and Dwayne, Sherry Nance and Chad, and Shena Jones; twin sister, Judy Newton; 31 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.

Jerry is preceded in death by: parents, John and Mary Martin; brothers Don Martin and Billy Martin, and sisters Maggie Brooks, Pauline Spivey Ince, Frances Watson, Mary Hall, and Lois Belvin.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 7, 2026, at The First Baptist Church in Lexington, Oklahoma. Burial to follow at Lexington Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
