Helen Juanita Kochert was born November 11, 1932, in Pharr, Texas to John Calvin and Thelma Grace (Courtney) Diggs and passed away May 9, 2023, in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years.
Helen lived in Lindsay area most of her life. She worked in the business office at the Lindsay Hospital and was a homemaker who was renowned for her fried pies. Everyone absolutely loved them. She also became a Tax preparer after attending H&R Block school. Helen loved camping, fishing, swimming, gardening, going to amusement parks, traveling, water skiing, attending concerts, and living life, but most of all she loved her family.
Helen will be best remembered as a devoted wife, mom and mema. She along with husband Carroll who she loved deeply were mentors to all their children and family teaching them the values of life in family, faith, church, respect, honesty, work ethic and love. Her family was her life.
Helen had a caregiver’s and servant’s heart. She was always accepting of everyone and welcomed anyone in her home. Helen will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her traditions will carry on.
Survivors include: Mike and Sheryl Kochert of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Tim Kochert of Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Jeff and Sherry Kochert of Glenpool, Oklahoma; Janet Crawford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Margaret Kochert and Kenny of Lindsay, Oklahoma; sister Joan Carruth and husband Don of Norman, Oklahoma; nephews: Patrick Carruth of Norman, Oklahoma and John Carruth of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law Dorothy Kochert of Alamo, Texas; brother-in-law Elmer Kochert Jr. of Raymondville, Texas; sister-in-law Charlotte Kochert of Alamo, Texas; sister-in-law Jane Kochert of Sommerville, Texas and other numerous family members.
Grandchildren: Chris, Leah, Jarred, Matt, Drew, Nathan, Nick, Chris B., Elisha, and Erica and 23 great-grandchildren.
Helen was proceeded in death by her father, Calvin Diggs; her mother, Grace Diggs; husband, Carroll Kochert; and son, Carroll Kochert, Jr.
Wake/Rosary will be at 12 pm on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Anyone wishing to view Mrs. Kochert must attend the Wake/Rosary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at St. Peter's Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Father Michael Wheelehan officiating. Burial at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
