Gladys Faye Watterman

Gladys Faye Watterman, born on March 17, 1938, in Bradley, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, in Marlow, Oklahoma. Her long and meaningful life touched many, and her memory will remain a source of comfort and gratitude to those who knew and loved her.

Gladys was the daughter of F. C. Cosby and Mable (Slate) Cosby. She grew up close to her brothers, Johnny, Harold, Clyde and Cecil, and her sister, Luvennia. In both her early years and throughout her life, Gladys exemplified steadfast devotion to her family, a trait that became the cornerstone of everything she did.

She found love and companionship in her husband, Clarence "Eddie" Watterman. Their partnership was marked by shared joys, challenges, and the love they poured into raising their family.

A great homemaker, Gladys devoted her life to creating a loving and welcoming home. Her family and friends always knew her door was open, the kitchen warm, and her heart generous. She had a special gift for making all around her feel comfortable and cherished.

Gladys was an avid reader, and she especially found solace and inspiration in her Bible. She delighted in tending to her garden, caring for her roses, and spent many joyful hours at church socials, nourishing her faith and friendships. Music played a special role in her life; nothing brought her more happiness than singing while Eddie played the guitar. Crocheting offered another creative outlet for her skill and patience—a quiet happiness she often shared with those dear to her.

Time with friends and neighbors was precious to Gladys, and she relished opportunities to be with people, share laughter, and cultivate lasting bonds. But of all her joys, time spent with her family was the most treasured.

Gladys is survived by: daughters, Diana Morris and Ricky of Foster, Oklahoma and Janet Burns of Lindsay, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Chris Morris and Stephanie, Angela McWhorter and Chad, and Vanessa Carroll and Justin; great-grandchildren: Ethan McWhorter, Skylar McWhorter, Tucker Morris, Hannah McWhorter, Kolton Carroll, and Tanner Carroll; and great-great-grandchildren, Rytt McWhorter and Ember McWhorter.

Gladys is preceded in death by: husband, Clarence "Eddie" Watterman; parents, F. C. and Mable Cosby; brothers: Clyde Cosby, Johnny Cosby, Harold Cosby, and Cecil Cosby; and sister, Lue Vena Newberry.
