Geneva Blanks

Geneva Blanks of Vernon, Texas was born on January 6, 1926 in Maysville, Oklahoma to Joe Woodard and Myrtle (Damron) Woodard. She passed from this life on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in Vernon, Texas at the age of 94 years.

Geneva grew up in Maysville where she lived until she moved to Texas. She married Joe Blanks in 1962 in Amarillo, Texas. She was a resident of Bushland, Texas for many years before moving to Vernon, Texas 15 years ago. Geneva worked for the Bush family on the Frying Pan Ranch where she enjoyed cooking for all the important guests. She was a loving mother who took great care of her children. Geneva loved gardening and canning the vegetables she would grow. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Her survivors include her sons, Kim Goodner and wife Tina of Spring Creek, Neveda and Dewey Goodner and wife Dianna of Seymore, Texas.
6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Blanks; 2 sons, Danny Goodner and Kelly Blanks; and siblings, Bonnie Whited, Luceal Mitchell, James Milton Woodard, Lillian Bratcher, Christella Eddie, and Joe Edward Woodard, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 20, 2020 in Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
