Francis "Nadine" Kennedy

Francis “Nadine” Kennedy was born on December 12, 1933, in Alex, Oklahoma, to Ira Lee Simmons and Bessie (Newman) Simmons. She passed away on September 23, 2026, at her home in Lindsay, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family and friends at the age of 92.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers, sewing, browsing garage sales and thrift stores, and relaxing while watching her favorite Westerns. She was rarely without a Pepsi nearby and had a particular fondness for Hershey’s Chocolate Kisses. Of all her hobbies and favorite pastimes, enjoying those chocolate kisses was undoubtedly her favorite—a sweet part of who she was that her family will always remember.

She is survived by four of her children, all of Lindsay, Oklahoma: Clinton and wife, Beth Taylor; Pam Burch; David and wife, Lisa Taylor; and Kim Griffith.

She leaves behind a loving legacy through her grandchildren: Kelli and husband, Steven Schueler; Tara and husband, Zac Zangari; Anthony and wife, Julie Burch; Scott and wife, Sena Burch; James and wife, Susie Burch; Brianne and husband, Jeff Bray; Erin and husband, Justin Mainka; Steven and wife, Crystal Taylor; Jaime and husband, Dewey Taylor; Chelsea and husband, Russell Davis; Foster and wife, Shyan Taylor; Jeremy Adkins; Larry and wife, Erin Griffith; Ashley and husband, TJ Doan; Brandon and wife, Shannon Griffith; and Kaitlyn Griffith and fiancé, Collyn Carnott.

She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews, who will cherish the memories and love they shared with her.

Her family grew to include 42 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild on the way. Her greatest joy was her family, and the love she shared with each generation will continue to live on through them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Lee and Bessie (Newman) Simmons; her siblings, Edna Cearley, Nellie Taylor, and W.C. Simmons; her husbands, Buford Taylor and Mike Kennedy; her special friend, Earl Farris; her sons, Michael, Billy, and Stanley Taylor; and her great-grandson, Bodee Griffith.

A special mention is made of Mitch and Beth Anne Legare, who were cherished members of the family. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Taylor Doan, who lovingly stepped forward to assist in caring for her grandmother.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Services will be under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma.  Services for cremation are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma.
