Frances Louise Blakemore

Frances “Louise” Blakemore of Lindsay was born on December 6, 1932 in Alma, Oklahoma to E. M. McCartney and Frances (Russell) McCartney. She passed from this life on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 in Duncan at the age of 89 years.

Louise had been a resident of Lindsay since 1955. She married Calvin Neal Blakemore in 1953 and they shared 65 years together. She loved her family and found great joy in feeding them. Louise was a devoted homemaker and had also worked as a telephone operator and helped her husband with their business bookkeeping. Louise and Neal enjoyed traveling as car traders/delivery people for Freeman’s Chevrolet in Lindsay. They loved their church, First Baptist Church of Lindsay. She taught GA’s on a regular basis and was faithful to attend Falls Creek to cook for the campers. She loved all kinds of sports. Louise will be greatly missed by her family.

Survivors include her sons: Benny Neal Blakemore and Nancy of Norwalk, CA and Gregory Mac Blakemore and Rochel of San Angelo, TX. Grandchildren: Jennifer Abilez and Tony of San Antonio, TX and Erin Doyle and Will of San Angelo, TX and great grandchild, Merritt Doyle.
A sister, Beth Enloe of Duncan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin Neal Blakemore; sisters, Pearl Pruitt and Marie Layne; and brothers, Harvey McCartney and Frank McCartney.

The family would like to thank Chisholm Trail Assisted Living Center and Elk Crossing Nursing Home for the loving care she received at their facilities.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: First Baptist Church, 401 SW Third Street, Lindsay, OK 73052.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, OK.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, October 3, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Lindsay with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
