Fannie Mae Stansbury

Fannie Mae Stansbury left this world on June 28, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving behind a family who adored her.

Born May 23, 1929, to Lonnie and Nora Pharaoh, she was part of a large farming family in Maysville along with her siblings Clarence, Bill, SV, Jimmy and Clarice. Fannie graduated from Maysville High School in 1947.

She married Claude Stansbury on May 13, 1952, in Gainesville, TX and they settled on the family farm in Lindsay, Oklahoma where they created their family with three boys—Steve, Joe and Bob. While Claude worked the oil field in pipeline construction and traveled the country, Fannie raised her sons to be responsible and instilled a strong work ethic that they carried their entire lives. She served as a Cub Scout leader and supported the boys in their school and sports events.

Fannie was a faithful member of the Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher at Erin Springs Baptist Church and also attended First Baptist Church, Lindsay. She could always be counted on to be involved in church and community activities and volunteered at the Lindsay Senior Center for many years. She was known for her kind spirit and her great food--especially her pies.

Fannie spent her last ten years at Reflection Ridge Independent Living Center in Wichita, KS, where she made so many great friends and enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and reading. The family would like to thank the staff of Reflection Ridge for providing an engaging and caring place for Fannie.

She was Nanny to five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren who will carry her memory and her generous heart.

Fannie was preceded in death by parents, Lonnie and Nora, siblings: Clarence Pharaoh, Bill Pharaoh, SV Pharaoh, Jimmy Pharaoh and Clarice Sweeney, husband Claude Stansbury, stillborn baby Aubrey Stansbury, and son Bob Stansbury.

She will be missed by her family: Steve and Carolyn Stansbury of Wichita KS, Joe and Glenda Stansbury of Oklahoma City, Mary Beth Stansbury, grandchildren: Richard and Amy Stansbury, Curtis Bost, Darcy Franklin, Sunny Stansbury, Julie and Nate Powell, and Michelle Stansbury and great grandchildren: Sophia, Olive, Olivia, Asher, Grace, Jonah, Ethan and Parker, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A service to honor Fannie will be held Thursday July 3rd, at 10:00 a.m., at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Oklahoma and she will be laid to rest next to Claude at Erin Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
