Evelyn Virginia Harmon

Evelyn Virginia Harmon was born on July 7, 1926, to Buster and Bessie (Goza) Sullivan in Doyle, Oklahoma and passed away on July 7, 2023, in Marlow, Oklahoma on her 97th birthday.

Evelyn came from a big family, she was one of nine children. On December 26, 1944, Evelyn married Alfred J. Harmon. She was a mother of two and a homemaker. Evelyn spent 50 years on the farm in Maysville, Oklahoma. She could often be seen at the pond where she spent many hours fishing.

Evelyn was a care giver for both sides of her family. She loved spending time with her family and her table was always open to anyone who needed a meal. You never left the table hungry. Evelyn had a servant’s heart and she will be missed dearly.

Survived by: daughter, Brenda Clark and Jerry of Tuttle, Oklahoma; sisters: Jimi Lou Wright and Eddie of Marlow, Oklahoma, Judy Palmer and Jim of Duncan, Oklahoma, Jackie Windsor and Joe of Noble, Oklahoma, and Jodie Kouns of Waurika, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Amber Renee Harmon and Jennifer Nicole Howeth; great grandchildren: Alexis Renee Harmon, Corban Ray Martin, Gavin Don Martin, Khloe Howeth, and Boston Howeth; great great grandchild: Emmit Hornbeck.

Preceded in death by: her parents, Buster and Bessie Sullivan; husband, Alfred J. Harmon; son, Charles Ray Harmon; brother, Bud Sullivan; sisters, Helen Harmon, Jean Bell, and Jarie Cummings. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Winans Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
