Emilie Lu “Ora” Brahic was born on May 13, 1934, in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Arthur Jackson Hopkins and Veila (Vaile) Hopkins. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 2, 2025 at the age of 90 years.

Ora and her husband, Ed, moved from Modesto, California to Maysville in 2006. Ora’s family meant the world to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ora enjoyed shopping for just about anything but, shoes and purses were some of her favorite purchases. Ora was also a collector dolls and Precious Moments collectibles. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling. Ora was always known to be meticulous in her home and in life.

Ora will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Ora is survived by: children: Perry Ward and Kathy, Lonnie Ward and Ann, daughter-in-law, Terry Ward, Laura McCurtain and Stanley and Randall Brahic and Patricia; grandchildren: Ryan Ward, Misty Stinchcomb, Karie Sloan, Neisha Cartwright, Jordan Mannell, Loni Lemley, Harli Ward, Brent Ward, Julie Brungardt, Chase Ward, Stanley Kyle McCurtain and Misty, Forrest Kreg McCurtain and Emily, Chelsi Cooper and Jackie, Chesni Guthery and Kael, Tahlon Brahic and Amy, Tyler Brahic and Ammy, Teyhla Brahic,; 36 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Ora is preceded in death by: parents: Arthur and Veila Hopkins; husband, Ed Brahic; son, Darryl Ward.

Friends and Family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2025 at the Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Oklahoma.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Maysville Cemetery in Maysville, Oklahoma. Burial is under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
