Eddie Ray Amos of Durant, formerly of Maysville was born on March13, 1947 in Pauls Valley Oklahoma to William Horace and Sallie Frances (Moore) Amos. He passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Denison, Texas at the age of 71 years.Eddie grew up in Maysville, graduating from Maysville High School in 1965. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Eddie was a brick layer in Oklahoma and Farmington, New Mexico. He moved back to Oklahoma 12 years ago. Eddie was a very strong man who was kind, big hearted, and always ready to help anyone. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Eddie was always ready for a good meal and a game of dominoes. He really enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers. Eddie was a big cut-up and was very entertaining to his nieces and nephews as he was very adept at making bird sounds and other sounds of nature. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.His survivors include his brothers: Rayburn Amos and Darlene of Farmington, New Mexico and Carl Boyd Amos and wife Barbara of Norman.Sisters: Nola Fae Morrison of Purcell; Frances Ward and husband D. C. of Meeker; Kathy Farrow of Ardmore; Joyce Tewksbury and husband Jay of Prague; Joan Davis of Durant; and Donna Tucker and husband Mike of Pottsboro, Texas.And a host of other relatives.Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, William Horace & Sallie Frances Amos; brothers, Anthony Horace Amos and Richard James Amos; and sisters, Nona Mae Thomas and Eva Jean Broadway.Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Abundant Love Fellowship, Maysville, OK with Rev.
