Doris June Amos

Doris June Amos, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in Lexington, Oklahoma, at the age of 91. Born on August 1, 1934, in Lexington, Oklahoma to Frank and Maude (Cook) Patton, Doris was a graduate of Maysville High School and spent her life dedicated to uplifting those around her.

Throughout her career, Doris worked as a hospitality hostess, where her innate ability to care for others shone brightly. Her whole life revolved around family; she had a servant's heart and welcomed everyone as they were. Known for leading an interesting life with an international soul, her presence was a blessing to all who knew her.

Doris enjoyed various hobbies, including sewing, indoor gardening, traveling, attending concerts, going to the beach, cooking, and baking. She also enjoyed OU football and watching the nephews and great nephews play ball. Each endeavor was infused with her love for family and friends, leaving behind countless memories that will be cherished forever.

She is survived by her children, Denise Amos of Maysville, Oklahoma and Stacy Amos of Clinton, Tennessee, and her grandchildren: Josh, Neil, Cougar, Zach, Jacob, Christian, Jessica, and Jeremy. Doris also leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Kolton, Sebastian, Ryder, Pyper, Bryic, Austin, Alex, and William.

Doris was preceded in death by her father, Frank Patton, and her mother, Maude Birdy Patton; her sons: Dal Ray Amos and Eric Amos; her daughter-in-law, Becky Amos; and her siblings, Ovie Patton, Ralph Patton, Vernon Patton, and Mildred Barnes.

Memorial Services to honor Doris will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, in Maysville, Oklahoma. Cremation services are under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Friends and family are welcomed to gather and remember the life of a remarkable woman who will be dearly missed.  Words of comfort may be sent to the family on this website.
