Dora “Mickey” Evelyn Ballard was born on April 9, 1948, to Otis Nelson Ballard and Mary Virginia (Phillips) Danner in Modesto, California and passed away on September 17, 2023, in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years.
Mickey moved from Paris, Texas to Lindsay, Oklahoma in 1991, where she was a member of the First Christian Church. Mickey was a former truck driver and she loved bowling. She would often bowl in three or four different leagues. Mickey passed on her love of bowling by teaching children.
Mickey was very talented and she enjoyed making jewelry. She made jewelry for friends, folks at the food bank, those at the doctor’s office, and people of the community. Mickey will be dearly missed.
Survived by: her daughter, Barbara McCuan and John of Newalla, Oklahoma ; Grandson Matthew Knowlton of Tulsa, son, William Ray Johnson; brother, Gerald Nelson Ballard of Sherman, Texas; sisters: Sharon Kay Riley of Commerce, Texas ; niece, Deborah Kay Ballard, and nephew, Jerry Ballard; and nieces, Jeannie Thomason, Marie Wooten, and nephew, Tommy Thomason, and many great nieces and great nephews ; She is preceded in death by her sister Mary Juanita Thomason of Mustang, Oklahoma and stepsister Sandra Rosson of Paris, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Oklahoma with Bro. Dennis Yates officiating.
Burial at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma.
