Donna Sue Baker

Donna Sue Baker was born January 1, 1958, to Shirley Marion Thoms Baker and Bobby Gene Baker in Oklahoma City, OK. Donna spent her childhood growing up in Oklahoma City, until her parents built a home in Lindsay, OK. As a child, Donna enjoyed playing outside, riding her Cushman Scooter (which was the reason for one of two of her childhood spankings, lol), riding her horse, Cornbread, and playing with her sisters and cousins. Even at a young age, family was very important to her.

Donna graduated from Lindsay High School in 1976, and has spent most of her life in Lindsay, OK. She lived in Albuquerque, NM for a short time after high school. After marrying Scott Yeager they briefly lived in Bryan, Texas until they got the news they were expecting Donna’s only child, Amy Jean Yeager who was born April 20, 1982, in Ardmore, OK. Later in life she was able to enjoy retirement at Buncombe Creek at Lake Texoma, before returning home to Lindsay.

Donna has spent her life devoted to her family, putting them first before herself. She enjoyed going to family reunions, hosting family holiday get-togethers, and going to the lake with family and friends. Donna worked for many years as a salesperson for KBLP radio station. It was the perfect job for her as she enjoyed interacting with her community.

Donna’s favorite hobbies were cooking and collecting cookbooks. Which worked out great for all those family functions. Everyone always wanted her to bring their favorite; Usually, German Chocolate Cake, No-Bake Cookies, Pies, or our new favorite Strawberry Cake.

Although cooking was Donna’s love, it didn’t compare to the love she had for her grandsons Jacob and Kody. They kept her busy and on her toes, but she wouldn’t trade it for the world. She also had a very special grand-daughter, Katelynn Henderson, who she loved. Katelynn gave her the name Ga-Ga and also gave her three precious great-grandkids.

We were all so blessed to have Donna in our family. She was our rock and always strong when situations arose. She was always there, whenever or whoever needed her. She was caring and loving, she would give you the shirt off her back.

Left to cherish the memory of Donna is her daughter Amy Yeager, sisters Janice Baker, Lori Baker, and Dawn Damsgard. “Her Boys” - grandsons Jacob Yeager and Kody Martin, granddaughter Katelynn Henderson and children Peyton, Madison, and Wyatt. Chayanne, Cordel, Kayla, Aiden, Emma, Reagan, and countless others who knew and loved her as Ga-Ga.

Preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Shirley Baker; and grandparents, Claude and Addie Baker, and S.C. and Vivian Thoms.
