Donald H. White

Donald H. White was born on December 19, 1927 in Jackson, Oklahoma to Ralph and Ruby (Lindsey) White. He passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 in Oklahoma City at the age of 91 years.

Don grew up in Jackson and continued his education through his Sophomore year at Oklahoma University. He joined the U.S. Army in 1946 where he was a Corporal serving his country in Japan for 13 months during World War II. After completing his service in the Army, Don lived in Ada before moving to Maysville in 1948. He married Weda Burden on March 19, 1949 in Vernon, Texas. He was an excellent auto mechanic who owned and operated his own business, Don White’s Garage for many years. Don loved his children and grandchildren very much. He was an important thread in the town of Maysville. He often would do things for people without them or others knowing. Don was a member of the Maysville Church of Christ where he served as an elder for 30 years and was devoted to the Lord.

Survivors include his daughter, Donece White Harper of Maysville and son, Kelly White and his wife Donna of Oklahoma City; and 5 grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ruby White; wife, Weda White; grandson, Jason Newberry; great grandson, Kevin Diaz, and brothers, James, Charles, Wayne, and Joe White.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 5 pm, Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 18, 2019 at Hillside Cemetery, Purcell, OK with Kelly White and Herb McCaleb officiating. Burial is under the direction of John W.
