Donald Gene McCoy

Donald Gene McCoy of Maysville was born on February 25, 1956 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Ralph and Joan (Songer) McCoy. He passed from this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years.

Donnie grew up in Maysville where he graduated from Maysville High School in 1974. He married Susan Duke on February 24, 1978 in Maysville. He provided for his family by working in the oilfield for over 45 years for Otis, Halliburton, Cudd, and multiple service companies. Donnie loved his family foremost! He enjoyed the animals on the farm, especially his dog, Bandit. He liked drag racing, guns, and coin collections. He was always “Spinning Tales” to those who would listen and planning his next project. Donnie enjoyed trying to make people laugh usually with the worst “Dad Jokes”. He was a friend to many and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Susan of the home.
Son, Shaun McCoy and wife Terrie of Maysville; daughter, Alisha Russell and husband Larry of Paoli.
Grandchildren: Naval DC Ryanne Russell, Cooper Russell, Jamie Hembree and husband Aaron; great granddaughter, Sophia Elaine Hembree.
Brothers: Gary McCoy and wife Diane of Blanchard; twin brother, Ronnie McCoy and wife LouAnne of Noble; Mike McCoy and wife Susie of Maysville; and Ed McCoy and wife Shelly of Dibble.
And multiple nieces, nephews, and friends.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Joan McCoy; brother, Richard “Dickie” McCoy; mother-in-law, Sharon Williams and father-in-law, Mike Duke.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church, Maysville with Bro. Aaron Hembree officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home of Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
