Donald Ray Manning

March 18, 1944 — June 5, 2023

Donald Ray Manning of Lindsay, Oklahoma was born on March 18, 1944, to Bill and Lola Mae (Bunch) Manning in Purdy, Oklahoma and passed away on June 5, 2023, in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years.

Donald spent his life in the Lindsay area.  After graduating high school, Donald entered the Army where he was an equipment repairman.  On November 15, 1974, at the Erin Springs Baptist Church he married Linda Lail.  Through this union they had three children, Jeffery, Donald Eric and Jamie. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family.  He loved playing with the grandkids, cooking on his smoker, pulling the kids around on the lake and riding the side by side.

Donald enjoyed fishing, boating, working in his garden and taking naps while watching westerns.

Survivors include: wife, Linda Manning of Lindsay, Oklahoma; daughter, Jamie Michelle Kirkland and Troy of Lindsay, Oklahoma; brothers: Ronnie Lee Manning and Linda, Gary Lynn Manning and Sandra Kay, and Bruce Clyde Manning and Jill; sisters: Gloria Fern Vinson and Vickie Mae Johnson; grandchildren: Ashton Rachelle Manning, Todd Austin Kirkland and Peyton Faeth Manning; brother-in-law, Hank Dutton; great grandchildren: Tyann Grace Nicole Martinez and Jesse James Mainka; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by:  his parents, sons: Jeffrey Don Manning and Donald Eric Manning; brother, Hoyt Dale Manning; sister, Sharon Ruth Dutton; sister-in-law, Martha Louise Manning; and grandson, Tristan Don Manning.

Visitation for family and close friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, June 8, 2023, in the Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 9, 2023, at the Erin Springs Baptist Church with Brother, Mike Ridgeway officiating.  Arrangements under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home of Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
