Derrell Lynn Allen

Derrell Lynn Allen of Lindsay was born on October 3, 1950 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Hobart and Geraldine (Dean) Allen. He passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 in Lindsay.

Derrell was a graduate of Chickasha High School. He was raised on a farm and hauled hay in his younger days all over the United States. He owned and operated his own business that he dearly loved, Allen A/C & Electric Service in Lindsay. Derrell was a hard working man all of his life. He loved his family immensely and he always brought joy to anyone and everyone. Derrell enjoyed John Wayne movies and other westerns, aka “Bang, Bang, Shoot’em Ups, singing, Deer Camp in Eastern Oklahoma, and spending time with his friends and family. He was full of adventures and stories that would leave you in awe, and could make people laugh when they were down. Derrell was saved and baptized as a young boy in the Sharon Baptist Church in Middleberg, Oklahoma. He loved his church, Calvary Baptist Church, the Elks Lodge, and his ministry to widows was his calling. He had a servant’s heart and loved serving the Lord, his church, and others. Derrell married Susan on July 17, 1998 in Lindsay. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his constant 4-legged companion Sydney.

His survivors include his wife, Susan and daughter, Mallory of the home.
Daughters, Derrelyn, Toni, and Donietta; and sons, Jason, James, Don, and Kenny.
Sister, Teresa and sisters-in-law, Teresa Allen and Andrea Gottscalk.
A host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nieces and nephews, Mike, Scott, Amanda, Trevor, Kristie, and Dale.

Derrell was preceded in death by his parents, Hobart and Geraldine Allen; brothers, Don Allen and Darvin Allen; and grandson, Zachary Allen.

A special thanks to Loving Care Hospice nurses, Joy and Connie.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 9, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church, Lindsay with Rev. Chris Stinnett and Mike Somers officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
