David Huston Bryan

David Huston Bryan of Stratford was born on April 12, 1938 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Manuel Huston Bryan and Juanita (Neuwirth) Bryan. He passed from this life, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in Oklahoma City at the age of 84 years.

David moved to Stratford in 1953 and graduated from there. He married the love of his life, Mary Patricia Allen, on September 14, 1956 and they made Stratford their home. To this union was born three children, Rick, Gary, and Vickie. His family was very important to him and he loved spending time with them. David was a self-employed home builder and loved his chosen profession. His hobbies were fishing, hunting quail, gardening, and cattle ranching. He also enjoyed being outdoors and cutting down trees for firewood. One of David’s pastimes was listening to country/western music and attending the Pauls Valley Opry and the McSwain Theatre. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. David was a member of the Church of Christ.

Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 66 years, Pat of the home; children: Rick Bryan and wife Diana of Calumet; Gary Bryan and wife Cheryl of Stratford, and Vickie Burkhart and husband Barry of Ada.
Grandchildren: Kyle Bryan, Erick Bryan, Blake Bryan, Madison Burgess, Dena Pike, Drew Burkhart, Ryan Burkhart, and Jennifer Etris; great grandchildren: Christian Pike, Ethan Pike, Karsyn Burgess, Alice Burkhart, Lila Burkhart, and one on the way.
He is also survived by a sister, Neta Bonner of Stratford.

David was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Blake Bryan, brother, Harold Bryan.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm, Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Stratford High School Auditorium with Bud Ross and Lewis Perry officiating. Burial will be in the McGee Cemetery, Stratford, OK under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
