Danny Warren Watson

Danny Warren Watson of Purcell, Oklahoma was born on January 24, 1948 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Joe Warren Watson and Helen Louise (Blair) Watson. He passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years.

Danny was a 1966 graduate of Perry High School and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. He married Deena Norton on July 1, 1972 in County Line, Oklahoma. They lived in Pauls Valley before moving to Purcell 10 years ago. Danny worked at Farm Credit as a Branch Manager, President, and Regional Vice-President before retiring in 2006. He loved his family and teaching the grandchildren to take pride in themselves. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He found great joy in cooking for his family. Danny was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lexington. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Deena Watson of the home in Purcell.
Son, Jeremy Watson and wife Amy of Pauls Valley and daughter, Stepheni Newton and husband Jonathan of Breckenridge, Texas.
Brothers: Tony Watson and wife Renee of Bartlesville and Dudley Watson and wife Linda of Tahlequah.
Brothers-in-law: Joe Norton of Duncan and Stephen Norton and wife Sonia of Duncan.
Grandchildren: Rhett Watson, Sophie Watson, Chandler David, Claire David, Cameron David, Carstens Newton, and Curry Newton and numerous nieces and nephews.
His golden child, Pippy the dog.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Jennifer Norton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, Lexington with Bro. Rusty Canoy and Mike Savage officiating. A family burial will be in the Velma Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
