Cuba Ruth Stroud

Cuba Ruth Stroud of Maysville was born on March 23, 1934 in Vanoss, Oklahoma to Rubin James and Emmer Belle (Hilton) Meek. She passed away in her home on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the age of 86 years.

Ruth graduated from Seminole High School in 1953 and attended one year of college. She married Earnest Stroud on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1955 in Seminole. She enjoyed the time she spent with her loving husband. They lived in Norman before moving to Maysville in 1988. Ruth was a devoted homemaker who loved her family and they were the highlight of her life. She enjoyed cooking for them and with every meal she prepared there would be a cake served for dessert. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, and fishing. Ruth was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was the kindest and sweetest person in the world and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Her survivors include her husband of 64 years, Earnest of the home.
Children: Donna and Royce Morgan, Allen Stroud, Calvin and Barbara Stroud, Terry Stroud, and Kevin Stroud.
Grandchildren: Crystal and Charles Kennedy, Tamera and Chris McElhaney, Bruce and Lynn Stroud, Anna Stroud, Josh Speer, Paul Thompson, Bridgett and Johnny White, Brandon and Cassandra Stroud.
Great grandchildren: David, Charlie, Austin, Kayla Brianna, Jordan, Erica, Aiden, Isha, Zyanna, Samerika, Jahcee, Van, Allyson, Zoey, Kayden, Tylie, and Ryah.
Brothers: Altus and Marsha Meek and Leroy and Virginia Meek.
Sister, Gladys Selzer.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Rubin James and Emmer Belle Meek; a great grandchild, Angel Grace Shupert; sisters: Anna Lee Hernandez, Kathy and Thomas Hawkins, Joyce and Alvi Rushing; brother-in-law, Doug and Marilyn Stroud; father and mother in-law, Earnest and Grace Stroud.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Midway Baptist Church, Dibble, OK with Rev. Jim Prock officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
